An Awesome Solution – Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump

Are you a mom wanting to feed your baby with the beneficial breastmilk but does not have enough time to make him or her latch on? If you are, then Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump is an awesome solution for you.

Unlike other breast pumps, the Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump allows me to pump in a more comfortable and pain-free position due to its unique design. It contains a soft, textured massage cushion that can help stimulate milk flow from my breasts. This manual breast pump is also compatible with other Philips Avent feeding products such as Natural and Classic breast milk storage bottles and containers. Its compact and lightweight design allows me to use it easily by holding it well and positioning it on my breast. It is truly a great perfect find for moms out there!

BPA Free

You can cut your worries in using this manual breast pump as it is certified BPA free. Its unique engineered design is made with high quality and durable materials as well as skilled workmanship. Sure, there are a lot of cheaper manual breast pumps out there on the market nowadays, but you cannot be sure of their quality. They may be made from plastics with BPA, a toxic chemical commonly found in plastics which can bring about brain damage and mental retardation to your baby as well as prostate diseases and hypertension later on in life. These cheaper breast pumps may also be sloppily done and do not offer the same quality as what Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump offers.

What I like about the Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump

The unique feature of Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump is that it makes me having a more relaxing and comfortable position when I pump and feed my baby. Other breast pumps only start to operate once I lean forward. Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump will allow me to sit comfortably upright while pumping. Its angled neck design permits the milk to naturally flow from my breast to the bottle. This was designed by Philips Avent manufacturers because they kept in mind the fact that when mothers are more relaxed, they secrete milk more.

Massage Cushion

The soft massage cushion contains 5 textured petals that are able to stimulate milk flow by creating a suckling sensation similar to a baby’s mouth. It is lightweight, has an ergonomic handle and you can easily operate it in one hand. The collection container also works as a feeding bottle with its breast shaped nipple.

What I do not like about the Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump

The most obvious issue found in using this pump is the longer time it takes to collect milk. It also squeaks when used. That is why it makes a lot of noise, which is embarrassing when other people are around. The collection reservoir or the bottle can sometimes be loosened out while pumping. Also, the part made of silicon that connects the handle to the pump seems weak or not that durable. It also does not produce a powerful suction effect.

Grab your Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump now!

Despite all those negative points, Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump is still a must-have for moms. Unlike other breast pumps, the Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump makes breast pumping a more comfortable and pain-free experience due to its unique design. • This is excellent and really helps me and my wife out a bunch. We are about to have our first child together and we have decided that we are going to breast feed it. So we have been searching the Internet front to back. Trying to gather as much information on it as possible. This may be something we will try. The only set back is the squeaking sound. Is it a muffled squeak or a loud squeak?

I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks

    • Thank you for lending us support, William. Congratulations, going to be daddy soon yeah... It's indeed a wise choice to breastfeed your baby. Glad to hear that we are able to help you out here.

Yes, this Philips Avent manual breast pump noisy issue sometimes can drive people nuts. According to Paige, it is definitely a loud squeak which can grab a lot of unwanted attention from the surrounding when she tried to breastfeed in her office. Hope this opinion will help you make a better decision.

  • I used this exact pump with my first child and I have to agree with you about the squeaking although my husband found it very amusing. It was definitely a long winded process and my hands would be worn out by the end of it so I decided to upgrade to the electric one for my second and third child which was so much easier and quicker but this one does do the job when your budget is tight and it's a good one to start on.

    • Thank you for sharing your experience, Jessie. Haha... I can't understand though why your husband found that squeaking noise amusing, but yeah... it is indeed still a good one to start on when the budget is tight; I agree with you on this. Cheers~

  • Thank you for your review of the Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump. Although I do not have a nursing wife/girlfriend, I was just talking to my friend the other day whose wife is expecting (their 4th child) and she has always struggled with pumps because they are just very uncomfortable and awkward for her. I will definitely be passing this review along to them as an option to look into. Thank you.

  • You have a lot of facts and science prof in your writing content which is very important to have in your website to make it very reliable to people. Your tips cover of how breastfeeding do help better your babies with their right nutrients. I would suggest that you guys put in some resources that so you have did all that research.
But other than that keep up your good work with your website, and best wishes to your success.

  • You know, the more I read the more I think that the hand held ones are the better choice. Is that true? I like the comparison chart also and it seems like its really easy to put together.

Also, does this one have small parts? That was one thing I was always concerned about with the pumps that I tried was losing the small parts.

    tfs. Marlinda :)

  • Hi,
I would say I am quite experienced in breast feeding, but I couldn't say that about breast pumps. I used Medela electric breast pump with my first son (8 years ago) and I did like this pump. And also now with my second son I am using the same pump (it is still working after 8 years :) - of course, I had to buy new bottles and pump details but it was a lto cheaper than buying a new pump as the engine was still working perfectly.
Though, I don't have any experience with other pumps and would be really interested to know how this pump stands along when comparing with others. I checked you have reviewed some Medela sets and manual pump - looking forward to seeing some review also about Medela electric single pump.

    • Hi Arta, thanks for stopping by and leaving us an awesome feedback here. We are happy for you knowing you enjoy using the Medela electric breast pump. By the way, are you using either the Medela Freestyle Breast Pump Deluxe Set or Medela Swing Breast Pump? 8 years from the 1st use till now it is still working as how you have desired, it is truly an amazing product!

Stay tuned for more updated posts and product reviews. Surely, the comparison among Philips Avent, Medela and other breast pumps will be added in the future. Review about the Medela Swing Breast Pump will also be added.

  • I have this exact manual pump, but I got it way expensive than if I have gotten it from Amazon. I used it for relactation and may I add that although it is a good manual pump, be prepared for your hands to get sore. I have small hands, and the handle is a bit big for me, so I tend to slip now and then. But it is worth it because unlike the manual pump from Medela, I managed to collect a bit using this compared to when I use the Medela manual pump.

  • This looks like a great product. The Mom's comfort is one of the most important factors to consider. The fact that you found this to be very comfortable during use is a good endorsement.
I needed to pump for a period of time and used an electric pump. What is the major advantage of this manual pump over an electric pump?

  • This is certainly an improvement on the breast pumps that were available when I had my babies. They had a bulb to squeeze and didn't work terribly well. I really like the idea of the lever type action on the Phillips Avent. I think the double breast pump is great. It saves a lot of time. Mums have enough to do without doubling the time it takes to express.

  • Wow Paige, I certainly took me back in time when I started using an Avent breastfeeding pump when I decided to go back to work after giving birth to my son - and that was some 16 years ago!!!
At the time I used a battery powered model. I'm sure Agent has created more advanced models since, and the manual one you reviewed sound rather appealing, in spite of the squeaky noises. At the end of the day, you will pump at home, so you don't have to when you are outside. But although many moons ago, I can certainly vouch for the validity of the Avent products and their value for money.
